Therapy Suite - Pamper Days

Sun 9 Jan 2011

Christmas and the New Year can be quite stressful, with the expectations, organization and perpetual shopping excursions taking their toll on even the most laid back of people, especially on top of all the other activities of daily living.

Recognizing this, Bovey Tracey’s Julie Arnold ( MGNT, SAC(HBT)dip, CHA(IHM)cert ), who takes an holistic and natural approach to the body and mind, is offering Pamper Days, to combat post Christmas weariness and over indulgence, where parents, grandparents, partners or friends can be treated to either a full or half day’s range of treatments.

The Full Day Pamper involves a Luxury Manicure and Pedicure, as well as a Thai Therapy Facial and Full Swedish Body Massage. For ladies and gentlemen, the manicure includes softening cuticle treatments, nails are shaped and tidied and hands and forearms are massaged before rehydration treatment with heated mitts. Then, for ladies, a basecoat, colour and topcoat of nail polish is applied – or for gentlemen, nails are simply buffed to a natural, healthy shine.

The Thai Therapy Facial involves rejuvenating the skin through cleansing, exfoliation and massage – then follows the application of a radiance mask, which restores the natural balance of the skin. The process is completed with soothing moisturisers and eye serum.

For both sexes, the pedicure involves a luxurious foot soak with aromatic softening agents in a vibrating foot spa. Hard skin is then smoothed away before Julie messages the feet with moisturising creams. Toenails are trimmed and shaped and buffed to a pleasing shine. Ladies can choose the latter, or as with the manicure, complete the process with nail polish.

The full body massage is a deeply relaxing treatment with warmed oil and towels to ensure maximum comfort. The therapeutic effects are well known and include relief from aching muscles, improved circulation, lymph drainage (especially beneficial after the indulgences of the festive season) and improvement of skin tone, to name but a few.

The Half-Day Pamper is just as luxurious, offering as it does a mini manicure and pedicure, but without the forearm massage and heated gloves. Hands, though, are massaged and also receive moisturising therapy, while cuticles and nails are treated as with the luxury manicure, but finished with clear varnish or buffed to a healthy looking shine.

The facial has been designed to combat environmental pollutants and the pace of modern living. Julie ensures, after treatment, that tired, dull and congested skin looks refreshed, with its natural vitality restored.

The Half Body Swedish Massage involves gently easing tired and knotted muscles in the neck, back and shoulders with the use of long slow strokes and gentle kneeding movements.

Designed to relax, soothe, balance, beautify and invigorate, both pampering sessions are undertaken at Julie’s Therapy Suite in Bovey Tracey, which offers peace, tranquility and a soothing environment - the chance to indulge and simply get away from it all for a few hours.
