Within the heart of House of Marbles you will find The Old Pottery Restaurant where chefs prepare wonderful breakfasts, brunches, lunches and afternoon teas.  The Old Pottery Restaurant has been open 20 years and has grown in reputation with every year, to a well established local business.

January and February is a good time to visit House of Marbles and find a cosy spot in the restaurant to stop for lunch.  Head Chef, Chris Marle uses as much local produce as possible and mouth-watering ingredients that are in season, this if reflected in the specials board which changes on a regular bases.  Chris, comments, “In addition to the meals offered on the special board there is a wide selection of dishes to suit everyone on the regular menu.  Always popular are the pies and fish dishes, the vegetarian options have a good following too.  This ensures there is a mix of traditional dishes and new creations to cater for every taste. “

The atmosphere is very inviting, whether a favourite table is picked in the conservatory or main restaurant. Christine Holmes, Restaurant Manager is keen to let everyone know that aside from the cakes and coffees our lunches are a real worthwhile affordable treat.   

If you don’t feel like lunch then don’t forget the breakfast menu, cream teas that are available and as the restaurant is fully licensed even a champagne breakfast can be offered.

Another excuse to visit in January is the great sales in the shop with a wide range of traditional and quality gifts, it is a great time to stock up for up and coming birthdays or treat yourself to the gifts that people didn’t buy you at Christmas.  The upstairs shop stocks a fabulous range of clothes for all sizes and ages to include labels SeaSalt and Amari.  In order to showcase the ever increasing range of clothes, a fashion show is planned for 28th March.  It will be a great evening out, as an added bonus Jo Smallbones, Image Consultant will be giving a talk on ‘the art of accessorising’.  If you are interested in more information email andrea@houseofmarbles.com or call House of Marbles.
