Nourish Festival - SEPTEMBER 10th, BOVEY TRACEY, DEVON

Fri 1 Jul 2022

Nourish Festival, now in its 9th year, has become a highly anticipated event with fine food, craft and music of the highest quality, presented in the heart of Bovey Tracey. Nourish Festival is designed to feed the body, the mind and the senses. On September 10th you can eat your way up Fore street and drink your way down, in between sit and relax, listen to music, meet makers and soak up the atmosphere.

Festival Director, Sarah James (also of Craft Festival) is delighted that Nourish is back in Bovey. “After 2 years, I’m really looking forward to sampling all the delights of Nourish. I love good food and coffee, especially when drank from a handmade mug! Being Welsh, I have been in choirs all my life and cannot wait to hear Tenebrae, a truly unique opportunity to listen to a world class choir in Bovey”.

Nourish, which is a non-profit company, has a simple mission: Introducing you to great artists and the best food and drink the South West has to offer. Expect artisan cheeses, preserves, meat, cakes, gin, beer, wine, cordials, vegetables, herbs, liqueurs, cider, relishes, pates, handmade chocolates, oils, pies and even speciality mushrooms.

Bovey Tracey’s Fore Street will also be filled with a mouth-watering selection of street food vendors - there's no need to go hungry! Featuring an eclectic, exciting and above all delicious mix of street food flavours from around the world. Difficult decisions will have to be made between Thai noodles, vegan kebabs, wood-fired Italian pizza, Caribbean feasts, Spanish delicacies and that all important coffee hit.

Nourish Music enters the field of vocal music for the first time with one of the world’s leading vocal ensembles. Described in The Times as “phenomenal” and by Gramophone Magazine as “devastatingly beautiful” award-winning choir Tenebrae is renowned for its passion and precision. They will be raising the roof of the beautiful PPT Church.

Voted Best Vocalist in the British Jazz Awards 2019, Sara Dowling is gaining fame as one of the country’s most talented jazz singers. Originally trained as a classical cellist, she reached concerto level before changing tack and moving into jazz as a singer. For our afternoon concert at Nourish, Sara will be accompanied by Dario de Lecce on bass and Ross Stanley on piano.
