Ist Lustleigh Scouts

The first meeting took place on Friday 13th November in the village hall which received mention in the Mid Devon Advertiser. We are delighted to report that our membership has now reached 28 youngsters from the village and surrounding area. We have almost filled the Cub Scout section [8-10½ years], but still have spaces in the Scouts [10½-14 years] and Explorer Scout section [14-18 years]. However, as yet we are still looking for more volunteer leaders to help out [full and comprehensive training is given by Teignbridge Scouting].
Many future activities are planned and we have also recently started "The Friends Of Lustleigh Scout Group", a group of people who have knowledge and experience of various subjects, who will be also be helping at meetings. This work will help scouts to obtain badges in Astronomy, Aviation and other challenging activities. If you feel that you may be able to offer Knowledge or a Skill relating to badgework please contact lustleighscouts@yahoo.co.uk The Committee would like to thank the community for the support, encouragement and financial assistance that has been given. It is both gratifying and rewarding to know how much support there is for helping our youngsters to develop positively through the Scouting movement.
