Chagstock 2011 the international music and arts
festival have signed up 'MAGIC NUMBERS' 'SHOW OF HANDS' and 'BELLOWHEAD' as the
main acts to play at this years’ event.
The UK's leading folk duo, Phil Beer
and Steve Knightly of Show of Hands, who have sold out The Royal Albert Hall a
number of times, are to headline the first day of the three day festival . The
Magic Numbers will headline the main stage on the Saturday and Bellowhead will
end the festival on the Sunday night with their critically acclaimed live
show(4 time winners of Radio 2 Folk Awards best live act). The dates for this
year will be 22nd to the 24th July 2011 at a site near Chagford in beautiful
North Dartmoor Devon.
Now in its fifth public year Chagstock has also
lined up The John Otway Big Band, Talk to Angels, The Fireblockers, The Freak
Bruvvers, No Crisis, The Sherpas, Life of Reilly, Parker & The Flowing Wow
and The Operation, just back from touring in the USA after playing Glastonbury
last year, and there are more exciting acts to follow.
The 2011 Chagstock festival 35 acre site now
boasts the main arena, acoustic marquee, two beer tents, two campsites, one
being a family site, a tipi village, showers and ATM services, there are also a
number of workshops and displays, children's story telling and Punch and Judy.
Also the Royal Albert
Memorial Museum
from Exeter is
to provide free kids entertainment. There is also a wide range of food and
drink outlets and shopping facilities including a "village" shop
where you can buy milk, bread eggs and bacon for you breakfast.
Devon Air Ambulance and Wateraid are two
charities which benefit from Chagstock and we also sponsor Chagford's Georgina
Geikie Britain's
number one ladies pistol shooter and our hope for the Gold Medal in the London
2012 Olympic Games.
